When a project earns recognition from the Recording Academy, much of the work that makes that possible takes place behind the scenes. In the case of the Grammy-nominated audiobook You Know It’s True: The Real Story of Milli Vanilli, that included coordination, outreach and industry engagement efforts during the critical Award season push.
One of the contributors to that campaign was Arash Dibazar, an associate producer who supported the outreach and promotion efforts that helped raise visibility for the project during its For Your Consideration (FYC) period.
Dibazar, known for founding the worldwide personal-development movement IMC Nation, has built a reputation as a communicator and mentor with a focus on helping individuals develop confidence, connection and influence. His work centers on communication techniques, mindset development and personal transformation, reaching a global audience through online content and community programs.
In his role as an Associate Producer on You Know It’s True, Dibazar and his team in Las Vegas helped organize listening sessions, industry meetings and outreach gatherings that were part of the FYC campaign, introducing members of the recording and media community to the project. These kinds of activities are key during awards season, when visibility, accessibility and engagement with voters can significantly influence nomination outcomes.
While awards attention often goes to creators and performers, campaigns rely on coordinated efforts across teams. Dibazar’s participation in the campaign was one component of that larger effort, working alongside The Los Angeles Tribune Publishing team to support the audiobook’s FYC push, including in-person listening events and strategic outreach during the consideration period.
When You Know It’s True: The Real Story of Milli Vanilli earned its Grammy nomination, it reflected a collaborative campaign effort — spanning production, creative leadership and behind-the-scenes engagement to bring the project to the attention of voting members.
