SAN DIEGO, CA – This August, San Diego’s vibrant East Village is set to become the epicenter of feline fanfare as CatVideoFest 2025, the world’s most anticipated cat-centric film event, returns to the big screen. Hosted at the Digital Gym Cinema, this unique cinematic celebration brings together heartwarming entertainment, community goodwill, and a shared love for all things cat-related. With tickets already selling out at record speed, this year’s event promises not only delightful laughter but also tangible impact—making it a must-attend experience for animal lovers and filmgoers alike.

CatVideoFest is no ordinary movie screening. Presented by Oscilloscope Laboratories, this curated 73-minute compilation features the very best in cat content—from charming home videos and animated clips to high-quality music video parodies and viral internet sensations. Carefully assembled from a vast range of global submissions, the compilation is designed to evoke joy, inspire laughter, and deepen the bond between audiences and their feline friends.

But beyond the entertainment lies a deeper mission. At its core, CatVideoFest is a movement—one that not only spotlights the cultural obsession with cats but also supports real-world efforts to care for them. Each year, local theaters across the nation collaborate with cat welfare organizations, animal shelters, and community rescue groups to raise awareness and resources for feline-focused causes.

This year in San Diego, the Media Arts Center is proud to partner with Los Gatos de Barrio Logan, a dedicated grassroots group serving the Logan Heights neighborhood. These tireless volunteers provide daily care, food, and medical support to the area’s underserved street cat population. As part of the CatVideoFest mission, 10% of ticket proceeds from the East Village screenings will be donated directly to support this community initiative.

The festival kicks off on Saturday, August 2, with a sold-out screening already signaling strong local enthusiasm. However, audiences still have a chance to join the festivities with a second screening scheduled for Saturday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are accessible: $14 for general admission, $12 for students and seniors, and a special $10 rate for Digital Gym Cinema members. Given the limited seating and high demand, advance ticket purchases are highly recommended to ensure attendance.

The festival’s unique format has gained a cult following in cities across the country. Not only does it offer comic relief and collective joy in an increasingly fast-paced world, but it also reminds attendees of the profound emotional connection people share with animals. In an age where digital content often divides, CatVideoFest unites. Families, students, seniors, and social media enthusiasts all come together in one space to laugh, connect, and give back.

For local organizations like Los Gatos de Barrio Logan, the exposure and funding from CatVideoFest is more than welcome—it’s essential. The visibility allows the group to share its mission with broader audiences and attract new volunteers, donations, and support. Moreover, it reminds the community of the importance of compassion and proactive care in creating a more humane and inclusive city.

From a broader perspective, events like CatVideoFest represent an innovative model for social engagement. By merging pop culture with philanthropy, this initiative exemplifies how the entertainment industry can champion community causes while delivering compelling, crowd-pleasing content. This modern blend of fun and fundraising speaks directly to a new generation of socially-conscious viewers who want their leisure experiences to have lasting meaning.

The Digital Gym Cinema, located in the heart of San Diego’s East Village off Market Street, is the ideal venue for this event. Known for its curated programming, community collaborations, and dedication to independent film, the theater aligns perfectly with the spirit of CatVideoFest. Its partnership with the Media Arts Center only strengthens the festival’s local relevance and grassroots appeal.

In summary, CatVideoFest 2025 is more than just a feel-good screening—it’s a joyful act of community engagement. It’s where cinematic creativity meets real-world compassion, and where a simple video compilation becomes a powerful force for good. For those looking to laugh, connect, and make a difference—this is your moment.

So grab your friends, mark your calendars, and reserve your “purr-fect” seat before they’re gone. With cats on screen and kindness in action, CatVideoFest 2025 is San Diego’s most heartwarming ticket of the summer.
