In the buzzing literary world of Mexico City, Deepika Sandhu’s arrival this November felt transformative. The Silicon Valley executive-turned-author and CEO of Soul Sparks Publishing, known for her soulful and self-reflective memoir, Hello, Universe! It’s Me, brought her story to the heart of Latin America. From November 11–15, Sandhu embarked on an emotional and inspiring book tour, presenting her Spanish-language debut. Her visit marked both the success of her memoir’s translation and the profound connection it fostered with a new audience.

A Universal Story Meets the Spanish-Speaking World
Sandhu’s journey to this milestone began with what she describes as a “soul spark.” That initial glimmer of inspiration ignited the creation of Hello, Universe! It’s Me, a memoir chronicling her personal journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation. Initially intended to inspire even a single reader, the book quickly gained traction in English-speaking markets, resonating with readers seeking deeper meaning in their lives.
Yet, her story was far from over.
About a year and a half ago, Sandhu had a serendipitous conversation that would change everything. “Someone told me, ‘The Latin world needs you,’” she recalls. Initially skeptical, she questioned, “I don’t speak Spanish. I don’t know anyone in these countries. Who’s going to read this?” But those words planted a seed.
With the help of a translator recommended by a publishing friend—one who had previously worked on translating three books for Deepak Chopra—Hello, Universe! It’s Me was reborn in Spanish. The translation, titled Hola Universo, Soy Yo: Crónica de un colapso anunciado para manifestar una vida nueva (¡Y cómo tú también puedes hacerlo!), captured the same heartfelt vulnerability and universal themes of the original, connecting with readers across Mexico and beyond.
The response has been nothing short of electric. The book quickly soared to Amazon’s top 10 in Mexico in the Inner Child, Meditation and Personal Development categories within its first weeks, maintaining a position in the top 20 five weeks later. Readers shared their stories of how the book mirrored their own experiences, making Sandhu’s memoir a deeply personal yet communal narrative.
Sandhu was overwhelmed by stories from readers who found their own lives mirrored in hers. “The story has absolutely resonated with people,” she says. “It doesn’t matter if you’re in Los Angeles, New York, or Mexico City. People are seeing themselves in it, and that’s the magic of a universal story.”
A Magical Tour in Mexico City
Arriving in Mexico City, Sandhu discovered a vibrant literary hub that welcomed her with open arms. Her tour was a thoughtfully curated blend of media appearances and intimate events, including radio interviews, television spots, and live workshops.
Prior to her arrival, Hola Universo, Soy Yo had already captivated Mexican readers, maintaining its place in Amazon’s Bestseller top 20 in Inner Child, Meditation, and Personal Development categories for over four weeks. Her words were connecting with audiences even before she set foot in the country.
“Mexico City was absolutely spectacular. We always knew that Hello, Universe, It’s Me, was a universal story, and that it would connect with people all over the world. What I didn’t know when we wrote Hello, Universe, It’s Me is how much it would resonate. How deeply it was going to resonate with people in the Spanish speaking world, particularly in Mexico City. I feel like every person I spoke with was having their own soul-sparking moment from the journalists to radio show presenters to TV hosts. Every word I was saying was connecting with them so deeply. And I think it’s because there’s this beautiful similarity between Indian culture and Indian background, which is my heritage and Mexican culture and background. We all have big families. We all have big celebrations. Religion plays a big part in our life. There’s always lots of people around. There’s just a lot going on.”
As Deepika further reflected on the trip she shared, “what I realized is when you have this much influence from the outside, there’s also a lot of opinions that people have, and a lot of expectations that people have around you, and that sensation was very much true for people in Mexico City. Yet there is this inner desire, this inner longing to find a way to make spirituality and religion intersect in a way that does not feel like a conflict. And so we were able to talk a lot about that. And that was really spectacular, but also just knowing and seeing in every interaction how much they were loving what I was saying, and how it was resonating so so deeply with them, literally. Every journalist I met had tears in their eyes. If we were doing a radio interview, the people in the control room, you could see their eyes getting really big, like they were all hearing this message, and it was connecting at the deepest levels.”
Cultural Parallels and Shared Longings
Sandhu found that her Indian heritage held surprising similarities to Mexican culture. “We all have big families, big celebrations, and religion plays a significant part in our lives,” she explains. “With so much external influence, there are also many opinions and expectations. That sensation felt familiar to people in Mexico City.”
“We asked ourselves, ‘What would Mexico want from us?’” Sandhu explains. This approach led her team to partner with a local PR firm, which orchestrated interviews with top-tier outlets and arranged her presence at cultural touchpoints across the city. Sandhu presented at Ranzo and Cafe Libertad, was interviewed by Revista Marie Claire and Entrevista con Berenice Villatoro, and also spoke at W Radio, Programa: El Brunch en Los 40 principales con Gaby Cam, Riva Pop y Magua. El Heraldo de México, and Programa: “Ponte al día” con Blanca Becerril. These media touchpoints amplified her message while showcasing her ability to deeply connect with her audience.
In every setting, Sandhu emphasized the importance of trust—trust in oneself, in one’s vision, and in the process of bringing that vision to life.
Through her workshops and media appearances, she engaged in powerful conversations about bridging spirituality and religion. “There’s an inner longing to find a way to make spirituality and religion intersect without conflict,” she reflects. “We were able to talk about that, and it was truly spectacular.”
At the heart of Deepika Sandhu’s journey lies a simple yet profound guiding principle: trust. Trust in the process of creation, trust in the power of a universal story, and trust in the idea that the world is ready to hear her message.
“Two years ago, I was manifesting a larger audience for Hello, Universe! It’s Me,” she reflects. “I didn’t know how it would happen, but I trusted that it would.”
The success of the Spanish edition is a testament to that trust. “We often cut things off before they even start, thinking, ‘Oh, I can’t do that.’ But when you trust and allow, you can hold the vision of what you wish for and let it come through in ways you never expected.” Sandhu is living proof of what can happen when you hold a vision and allow it to unfold.
For her readers in Mexico and around the world, Sandhu’s story is a call to action, an invitation to reimagine what’s possible, to dream bigger, and to trust that the universe has a way of bringing those dreams to life.
Looking Ahead: Colombia and Beyond
Sandhu’s success in Mexico is only the beginning. As she wraps up her tour, her eyes are set on new horizons, including Colombia in 2025, where Hola, Universo! Soy Yo is already beginning to create ripples. Beyond Spanish-speaking markets, she dreams of translating her memoir into other languages, allowing its message to take on a life of its own in cultures worldwide.
“The sky’s the limit,” Sandhu says. “I’d love to see what language takes on its own life next.”
Her aspirations go beyond translation, aiming to spark conversations around spirituality and personal growth in every culture her book touches. She views her work as a bridge—between languages, generations, and ways of understanding oneself.

Leaving an Impression, While Manifesting the Future
Sandhu is determined to leave every interaction with an impression of empowerment. “Anyone I meet, I hope they leave feeling a little better about themselves after our conversation,” she says. “That’s my goal for every event—intentional, intimate moments where people can connect to the message on a personal level.”
As Sandhu continues her journey, she remains rooted in the richness of her experiences rather than chasing accolades or material goals. “I want the depth of my experiences to grow. I want to catch the highest version of myself and see where it takes me,” she shares.
Sandhu’s dream for 2025? To continue building Soul Sparks Press with ease while maintaining the balance of being a hyper-present parent. “I want to show that you can create a wildly successful company and a wildly meaningful life without the hustle and grind.”
With the success of Hola Universo, Soy Yo and the growing anticipation for her Colombia tour, Sandhu’s story serves as a create every day of your life memoir. It’s a commitment to evolving self-discovery, transformation, and trust in the power of a universal story.
