SAN DIEGO, CA — The Super Dentists, a leading dental provider renowned for its innovative, family-friendly services, is launching its annual Halloween Candy Buy-Back program across San Diego County. This community initiative is designed to encourage children to trade in their Halloween treats for cash, fostering positive dental health habits while supporting active-duty military personnel with the collected candy. From November 1 through November 8, participating children can earn $1 for every pound of candy they bring to any of The Super Dentists’ six conveniently located offices.

In addition to benefiting individual families, the program also offers local schools the opportunity to engage in a meaningful community project. Schools can participate in this fundraiser by hosting candy collection bins between November 1 and November 8, enabling students to make a difference together. The Super Dentists will contribute $1 for each pound of candy donated, allowing schools to generate funds for various needs while raising awareness about the importance of dental hygiene.

For years, The Super Dentists has played a significant role in promoting dental health education in the San Diego community, especially during a time of year when children typically indulge in sweet treats. By offering a tangible reward, this initiative not only encourages children to reduce their sugar intake but also spreads awareness about cavity prevention and the broader benefits of maintaining good oral health. Since launching the Halloween Candy Buy-Back program in 2004, The Super Dentists has collected over 20,000 pounds of candy, all of which has been donated to active-duty military members. This unique collaboration is a testament to The Super Dentists’ commitment to community well-being and their passion for serving both local and national communities.

“Every year, our Candy Buy-Back program gives us the opportunity to give back to our community and help instill a culture of healthy habits,” shared The Super Dentists’ CEO. “We love seeing the enthusiasm from families and schools who join in. Together, we’re reducing sugar consumption and supporting our troops, and it’s always heartwarming to witness how much our community comes together to make a positive impact.”

This program goes beyond a mere candy buy-back—it’s an opportunity for The Super Dentists to engage with families and schools on a more personal level, encouraging conversations around preventive dental care in a way that is accessible and enjoyable. By participating, families can help teach children the importance of managing sugar intake to prevent cavities and other oral health issues.

Drop-Off Locations:

Families and schools interested in participating can bring candy to any of The Super Dentists’ offices, located at:

  • Carmel Valley: 11943 El Camino Real, Suite 200
  • Chula Vista: 345 F St., Suite 260
  • Eastlake: 2226 Otay Lakes Road, Suites A and B
  • Kearny Mesa: 9737 Aero Drive, Suite 210
  • Oceanside: 3625 Vista Way
  • Escondido: 390 West Valley Parkway

The collection bins will be available at each of these six locations, ensuring that families across San Diego County have easy access to participate. Whether it’s a small donation or a larger school-based contribution, every pound of candy collected makes a difference in spreading smiles and reinforcing healthier choices.

Why This Program Matters:

With childhood obesity and dental health remaining top priorities for healthcare providers, The Super Dentists’ initiative is an inspiring example of how organizations can step in to support public health goals. By converting candy into cash and then donating it to active-duty military, The Super Dentists demonstrates a powerful model of community engagement that benefits both health and morale. Each year, this program captures the spirit of giving back while emphasizing the importance of preventive dental care in a way that resonates with children and adults alike.

So, as Halloween candy fills homes across San Diego, families have the chance to turn those sweet treats into an opportunity for positive change. By participating in The Super Dentists’ Candy Buy-Back program, San Diegans are not only promoting a healthier lifestyle for their children but also extending a gesture of gratitude and support to our active-duty service members. Join the movement today and turn Halloween candy into a meaningful contribution!
