San Diego County Credit Union Leads the Charge in Promoting Financial Wellness with Free Resources and Expert-Led Webinars

San Diego, CA — In a bold and strategic move to champion financial literacy and long-term economic resilience, San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s top credit unions, proudly announces its active participation in America Saves Week 2025, taking place April 7 through April 11. Aligned with this year’s inspiring theme—“Saving for Your Past, Present and Future”—SDCCU is offering complimentary financial education resources to empower individuals and families in building a more secure and prosperous future.

With today’s volatile economic environment, financial education has never been more critical. According to data from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, nearly 24% of Americans have no savings set aside for emergencies. Additionally, only 37% report having at least one month’s worth of income saved—far below the expert-recommended three to six months’ cushion necessary to navigate unexpected expenses or sudden income loss.

Recognizing this urgent need, SDCCU is doubling down on its mission to foster financial well-being across all life stages. On Wednesday, April 9, the organization will host a series of free, savings-focused webinars under its acclaimed Financial Wellness Wednesdays initiative. These virtual sessions are designed to deliver high-impact guidance, practical savings strategies, and mindset-shifting financial principles aimed at transforming how participants view, plan, and manage their money.

“SDCCU is proud to support America Saves Week by offering accessible financial education to our community,” stated Teresa Campbell, President and CEO of SDCCU. “Saving is the cornerstone of a strong financial foundation. Whether you’re just beginning your financial journey or actively planning for retirement, consistent saving habits are essential to reaching your goals and preparing for life’s uncertainties.”

From understanding the psychology of saving to implementing smart budgeting techniques, the upcoming webinars are tailored to address diverse financial stages and challenges. Each session will not only educate but inspire attendees to take action—providing tools that translate into meaningful change.

Moreover, this initiative is part of SDCCU’s broader commitment to community empowerment. Through Financial Wellness Wednesdays, the credit union offers ongoing, free access to expert-led financial literacy content covering a wide range of topics including credit score improvement, identity theft prevention, home buying strategies, and more. The program has become a trusted source for thousands of participants seeking credible, easy-to-digest financial insights without the high cost typically associated with professional financial advice.

To enhance outreach and accessibility, registration for all webinars is now open to the public via sdccu.com/fww. In addition to live sessions, participants can access a comprehensive archive of previous webinars and educational blogs at sdccu.com/blog, offering 24/7 availability to critical financial knowledge.

This year’s America Saves Week serves as more than a national campaign—it is a timely call to action. In an era where inflation, job insecurity, and economic uncertainty have become commonplace, cultivating a savings-first mentality is not just advisable—it’s essential.

By stepping forward as a proactive educational partner, SDCCU underscores its longstanding reputation for leadership, trust, and social responsibility in Southern California’s financial ecosystem. With a legacy rooted in service and innovation, the credit union continues to raise the bar for what it means to be a truly community-driven financial institution.

Whether you’re a college student managing part-time income, a parent planning for your child’s education, or a retiree navigating fixed assets, SDCCU’s commitment to your financial success remains unwavering. Their resources are built for real people facing real challenges—and they’re free, accessible, and thoughtfully designed for maximum impact.

As more individuals look to regain control of their financial futures, programs like SDCCU’s Financial Wellness Wednesdays represent a critical lifeline. And during America Saves Week 2025, that lifeline is being extended further than ever before.
