San Diego’s brunch scene is about to be elevated with a fresh infusion of Southern hospitality and bold flavors. Another Broken Egg Café, one of the nation’s fastest-growing breakfast, brunch, and lunch concepts, has announced the opening of not one but two new locations in San Diego. For a city that prides itself on its culinary diversity, this marks a defining moment where Southern-inspired dining meets West Coast vibrance.

This expansion is spearheaded by the entrepreneurial uncle-and-niece duo, Zeeshan Naqvi and Mahrouz Syed, who are determined to introduce San Diego to the warmth, comfort, and culinary creativity that has made Another Broken Egg a beloved brand nationwide.

Zeeshan, a seasoned hospitality professional with more than three decades of experience running restaurants across Southern California, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the venture. His career began after studying hospitality management in Switzerland in the 1990s, a foundation that gave him both international perspective and timeless principles of service excellence. Now, with a successful track record in overseeing numerous restaurants, Zeeshan is channeling his expertise into a concept that merges tradition with innovation.

His niece and partner, Mahrouz, represents the next generation of hospitality leadership. Currently pursuing her studies in hospitality at San Diego State University, she already manages one of her father’s local breakfast restaurants. Her hands-on approach, fresh outlook, and ability to connect with younger diners complement her uncle’s experience, creating a partnership that blends legacy with new vision. Together, they are poised to make Another Broken Egg Café a San Diego favorite.

A Southern Twist on Brunch Culture

Another Broken Egg Café is not just another breakfast spot—it is an experience rooted in Southern traditions that celebrate community, flavor, and leisure. From the indulgent Shrimp N’ Grits to the decadent Lobster and Brie Omelette, every dish is crafted with a spirit of comfort and authenticity. Guests can also enjoy modern brunch staples such as Chicken & Waffles, Huevos Rancheros, and kid-friendly favorites like Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the Little Rooster Breakfast Combo.

The menu balances bold, hearty offerings with lighter, health-conscious selections, ensuring there is something for everyone. Beyond the food, Another Broken Egg distinguishes itself with a full bar program, featuring hand-crafted Bloody Marys, signature mimosas, seasonal cocktails, and non-alcoholic options, making it an all-day destination for both casual brunches and celebratory gatherings.

Bringing the Brand West

Currently, California diners can only experience Another Broken Egg Café at its Burbank location. With the upcoming launch of two San Diego cafés, the brand is signaling its strong commitment to growth across the West Coast. This move is part of a larger expansion strategy: with over 100 cafés currently operating across 17 states and nearly 100 more in development, Another Broken Egg Café is quickly becoming a national brunch powerhouse.

For San Diego, this expansion means more than just two new dining destinations—it means the arrival of a cultural touchpoint where families, friends, and food enthusiasts can come together. It offers residents a place to slow down, savor meaningful conversations, and embrace the joy of dining out in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Power of Brunch in Today’s Dining Landscape

In today’s fast-paced culture, brunch has evolved from a simple meal to a social ritual—a space for connections, celebrations, and shared experiences. Another Broken Egg Café understands this cultural shift and has designed its concept to deliver more than food: it delivers an immersive dining experience. With a combination of Southern flavors, California energy, and a full bar program, these new locations will serve as both community hubs and culinary highlights.

As Zeeshan Naqvi explains, “Southern food has a unique way of bringing people together. From our signature omelettes to our Southern-inspired classics, we want every visit to feel like an occasion worth savoring.”

Looking Ahead

San Diego’s restaurant industry continues to thrive, attracting both national brands and local innovators. Yet, Another Broken Egg Café’s arrival brings a distinct identity that merges authenticity, creativity, and scale. For locals seeking a new go-to brunch spot or travelers eager to explore San Diego’s culinary offerings, these cafés promise to be must-visit destinations.

With a proven track record of success, a leadership team that blends experience with new energy, and a brand philosophy rooted in connection, Another Broken Egg Café is positioned to reshape San Diego’s brunch culture. The opening of these two new locations is not simply a business expansion—it is a celebration of flavor, tradition, and community.
