As the founder of The Heart of San Diego, Latesha Fields is redefining what it means to represent a city, transforming fashion, music, storytelling, and community outreach into a platform that celebrates culture, uplifts people, and connects San Diego to the world.

SAN DIEGO, Calif.

Where It Begins: Legacy, Not Logos

Before there was a brand, there was a foundation. Latesha Fields traces that foundation back to her grandparents, whose influence shaped how she sees community, identity, and responsibility. Their example wasn’t about visibility or recognition.

It was about values, about showing up, about taking pride in where you come from, and about understanding that community is something you build, not something you wait for.

That early influence didn’t stay personal. It became directional. Over time, it evolved into something that would move beyond her and into the streets, into the culture, and into the identity of a city.

From Idea to Movement: What The Heart of San Diego Really Is

The Heart of San Diego is not just a clothing brand, and it was never meant to be. It is a community-driven movement that brings together fashion, music, storytelling, and youth-focused initiatives into one unified platform. At its core, it reflects the real spirit of San Diego, not just the image people see from the outside, but the lived experience of the people who give the city its energy.

Through apparel, media, and outreach, Latesha has created something that allows people to represent their city with pride while also contributing to something meaningful.

It is about visibility, but it is also about connection. It is about identity, but it is also about impact.

Who It Speaks To: A City That Sees Itself

The movement resonates with people who feel deeply connected to San Diego culture. It speaks to locals, tourists, entrepreneurs, artists, and athletes alike, especially those connected to streetwear and music culture who see identity as something expressed through style, sound, and community.

These are individuals who value creativity, unity, and positive impact, and who want to represent the city in a way that feels real.

It especially connects with youth and families looking for something authentic, something that reflects not just where they live, but who they are and what they stand for.

For many, The Heart of San Diego is more than apparel. It is a way to express pride, to feel connected, and to support something that uplifts the people behind the culture.

Where Creativity Meets Purpose

What makes Latesha’s work stand out is how seamlessly it blends creativity with intention. Fashion becomes more than style. It becomes storytelling. Music becomes more than entertainment. It becomes a connector.

Media becomes more than content. It becomes a platform for voices that deserve to be heard.

Each piece, each collaboration, and each initiative is designed to do more than exist. It is designed to represent, to inspire, and to unify.

The Heart of San Diego is not reacting to culture. It is actively shaping it.

“Our goal is to reach the heart of people one piece and one heart at a time.”

Impact That Moves Through the City

The impact of The Heart of San Diego is both visible and measurable.

The brand has reached thousands of people through social media, community events, and merchandise worn throughout the city. But the deeper impact shows up in how people feel and how they respond.

It shows up in youth who begin to see themselves as leaders and creators. It shows up in artists who gain visibility and recognition through a platform that values their voice. It shows up in communities that feel more connected and represented.

The movement does more than exist within San Diego.

It moves through it. It strengthens identity, builds connection, and reinforces pride in the people who make the city what it is.

Voices That Reflect the Movement

The strength of The Heart of San Diego is best understood through the people it touches.

A community supporter shared, “Seeing The Heart of San Diego brand reminds me of how strong our city is. It represents real people, real neighborhoods, and the pride we have for where we come from.”

A youth participant reflected, “Being around The Heart of San Diego made me feel like my voice mattered. It showed me that young people can lead, create, and inspire others in our community.”

A local artist explained, “The Heart of San Diego gave local creatives a platform. It’s more than a brand, it’s a movement that highlights the talent and culture we have right here in the city.”

A community partner added, “Working with The Heart of San Diego showed us how powerful community collaboration can be. The mission to uplift people and create opportunities is something San Diego truly needs.”

These voices are not marketing. They are lived experiences.

From San Diego to the World

What began as a local expression of pride has grown into something with global reach. Through collaborative charitable efforts, The Heart of San Diego helped support an initiative that provided meals to 650 children in Nairobi, Kenya.

It is a powerful reminder that something built from local pride can extend far beyond geographic boundaries.

It shows that when a movement is real, its impact does not stay contained. It expands.

The Values That Keep It Grounded

Everything Latesha builds is anchored in a clear set of values. Community unity brings people together across neighborhoods, cultures, and generations. Authenticity ensures that the brand reflects real voices and real experiences.

Youth empowerment creates space for young leaders, artists, and entrepreneurs to grow and lead.

Creativity and expression are treated as essential tools for identity and connection. Service and impact guide how the brand gives back both locally and globally.

And at the center of it all is pride in San Diego, not as a slogan, but as a responsibility to represent the city in a way that uplifts the people who make it what it is.

More Than Apparel: A Platform for Culture and Change

The Heart of San Diego offers apparel, merchandise, and media that represent the culture and pride of the city.

From T-shirts and hoodies to creative storytelling and collaborations, everything is designed to reflect San Diego’s diversity while supporting community initiatives and youth empowerment.

But the products are not the end goal. They are the entry point into something bigger. A platform that connects culture, creativity, and community impact into one unified voice.

Why Her Story Matters Now

At a time when identity can feel fragmented and communities can feel disconnected, Latesha Fields is building something that brings people back together.

She is creating a space where culture is celebrated, where voices are amplified, and where pride in where you come from becomes something that fuels action.

Because The Heart of San Diego is not just something you wear.

It is something you carry.

Bogdan was born and raised in America's Finest City, San Diego, as a first generation Polish Mexican American, Bogdan grew up shaped by stories of his family rebuilding from the ground up. His family history led him to learn languages, study different cultures, and develop a fascination with geopolitics and how to become a more engaged member of the community. That curiosity evolved into a career centered on diplomacy, conflict transformation, and community social impact and resilience. Bogdan earned his undergraduate degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution, along with minors in Islamic and Arabic Studies and Latin American Studies from San Diego State University before receiving a Fulbright Grant from the U.S. Department of State to teach and develop community initiatives in Spain. He was later selected and awarded a Rotary Peace Fellowship and learned and conducted field studies in Asia. His travels to over 60 countries, including places where most people shy away, have brought him face to face with the realities of conflict and post conflict recovery. From the chaos of war zones and post conflict environments to the heart of diverse cultures, he has listened to personal stories of hardship, healing, and hope. Those experiences deepened his understanding of resiliency, peacebuilding, and the art of restoring trust in fractured communities. Bogdan is the Founder of iSERVE, International Service Education Research Vision Empowerment, www.iserveinternational.com. Through iSERVE, he supports students and professionals pursuing scholarships, fellowships, university admissions, grants, and international opportunities. He has organized educational initiatives in the United States, Mexico, Egypt, Syria, Spain, Indonesia, Afghanistan, and online for participants around the world. Bogdan has supported cross sector violence prevention conversations and projects, contributed to disaster and housing relief during the 2024 San Diego flood response, and in 2025 was appointed to the City of Chula Vista Homelessness and Housing Commission . He serves as Peace Chair of the San Diego Coastal Rotary Club and contributes to regional mental health initiatives. He is also an Ambassador for the Institute of Economics and Peace. An internationally recognized award recipient, including The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow distinction for merit, Bogdan remains committed to service to others. Having once navigated complex systems without clear guidance himself, he is passionate about helping others access opportunities they may not see as possible. He is a connector and educator who bridges stakeholders across sectors to advance peacebuilding, community safety, and conflict transformation. He brings together volunteers, educators, civic leaders, business professionals, and international partners to design solutions that make communities safer and more resilient.
