From an Idea to a Growing National Signing Service: The Women Behind Sign and Date Here

SAN DIEGO, CALIF.

Sometimes a business begins with a detailed plan, a large team, and years of preparation. For Glenita Bjorklund and Shatia R. Moore, it began with something much simpler: a conversation, an idea, and two women willing to believe that the right partnership could turn possibility into something real.
Today, Sign and Date Here is a growing Black-owned and women-owned national notary signing service, with hundreds of signings completed, relationships across multiple states, a growing network of professional notaries, and a vision that reaches all 50 states. But the story is not simply about how quickly a company has grown. It is about what happens when two women trust their strengths, learn while building, and refuse to let an unfinished beginning determine the size of their destination.
Where Southeast San Diego Roots Meet a National Vision
Both Bjorklund and Moore have roots in Southeast San Diego, and that connection remains an important part of how they understand their journey. Their company represents entrepreneurship with personality, professionalism, determination, and a sense of responsibility to the community from which they came.
Sign and Date Here was officially launched in April 2025, but the idea took shape several months earlier. At a conference in January 2025, a simple observation from Glenita’s husband changed the direction of a conversation. “I think you guys can do a signing service,” he suggested.
The idea resonated. Moore had always wanted to own a company, but she also understood that the right partner could make a meaningful difference. With Bjorklund, she found someone whose strengths complemented her own.
Quick Profile
Glenita Bjorklund serves as President of Sign and Date Here. Now based in North Carolina, she brings leadership, business insight, organization, and a strong focus on client relationships to the company. Her role has helped the business establish relationships beyond California, support daily operations, and maintain its commitment to professional and dependable service.

Shatia R. Moore serves as Vice President. She brings more than two decades of experience in mortgage technology and financial services, having progressed from customer service to Senior QA Engineer. Her professional background developed her strengths in quality assurance, problem solving, technology, and attention to detail. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance Management.

Together, their professional backgrounds create a partnership built around complementary skills: leadership and relationships on one side, technology, quality, financial knowledge, and detail on the other.
From One Conversation to a Working Business
The transition from idea to operation happened quickly. After the January 2025 conversation, the women moved forward, and by April the company had officially launched.
They did not begin with a huge corporation, a large staff, or every answer already figured out. They began with determination, relationships, a willingness to learn, and a belief that the business could become something larger.
That willingness to learn became especially important as the company encountered the realities of entrepreneurship. Balancing careers, families, and everyday responsibilities while building a new business required persistence. There were technology challenges, difficult assignments, growing pains, and ordinary setbacks that come with learning how to operate and expand a company.
For Bjorklund and Moore, those challenges became part of the education rather than reasons to stop.
Turning Professional Experience Into Service
Sign and Date Here serves a broad professional market that includes title companies, escrow companies, lenders, attorneys, real estate professionals, and other businesses that need dependable notary signing services.
Its work includes buyer and seller packages, refinances, home equity lines of credit, general notary services, powers of attorney, trusts and wills, and other mobile notary services. The company also works with professional notaries across the country, creating opportunities for experienced signing agents while building relationships with people the founders can trust.

At the center of the business are values that extend beyond individual assignments: integrity, professionalism, consistency, community, opportunity, and belief in oneself.
The founders believe an idea can become a business, a conversation can become an opportunity, and one person’s belief in another can provide the spark needed to begin.
The Growth Behind the Vision

Since its launch, Sign and Date Here has moved from an emerging company to a growing signing service with a broader national presence.
The company has completed hundreds of signings, coordinated work through a network of notaries across multiple states, and recorded as many as 55 closings in a single month. Its expansion has reached beyond California, including its first signing in Puerto Rico.
The company also secured its first client agreement within months of launching. More recently, one of its largest clients, based in North Carolina, renewed its contract for another year after the first year of working together.
For Bjorklund and Moore, that renewal carries significance beyond another contract. It represents the trust created through consistent service, communication, professionalism, and relationship-building. In a young company, continued client confidence becomes one of the clearest signs that the work being built is creating lasting value.
“We Started, Learned Along the Way, and Kept Building”

The founders do not present entrepreneurship as a journey that required perfection before action.
“We didn’t wait until everything was perfect. We started, learned along the way, and kept building,” Bjorklund says.
That philosophy captures much of the company’s development. The women have had to prove themselves one signing at a time while navigating the responsibilities of professional life and business ownership. As Black women with roots in Southeast San Diego, they also recognize the importance of creating opportunities and making space for themselves when opportunities and seats at the table are not automatically available. Their response has been to build.
And they have built with personality. The founders describe themselves as bold, professional, entrepreneurial, and authentic—“red lipstick and all”—while remaining focused on the dependable service their clients expect.
A Partnership Designed Around Possibility
For Moore, the partnership answered a question that had existed before the company itself: what happens when you have the vision but are still looking for the right person to help bring it to life?
“Sometimes you already have the vision. You just need the right person beside you to help bring it to life,” Moore says.
That belief sits at the heart of Sign and Date Here’s story.
The company is not only about notary assignments. It is also about creating opportunities for other professionals, supporting families, representing a community, and demonstrating what can happen when women trust themselves enough to begin.
The founders believe that a person’s background does not determine how far they can go. Their own experience has become part of the message they want to share with the next woman who may be sitting on an idea but waiting for the perfect moment.
Building Toward All 50 States
The next chapter is intentionally larger.
In the short term, Bjorklund and Moore want to bring on more title, escrow, lending, and real estate clients while continuing to expand their network of professional notaries.
Their long-term vision is a trusted network across all 50 states—a nationally recognized signing service that clients can depend on wherever they need professional notary support.
But the goal is not simply to claim a nationwide presence. The founders want to build strong relationships, create opportunities for notaries, develop a recognizable name within the industry, and create something their families can be proud of. For them, growth is connected to legacy and generational wealth.
It is also connected to representation.
They want women, particularly women from communities like Southeast San Diego, to see their journey and recognize that a beginning does not have to look impressive for the destination to become significant.
Why Their Story Matters Now

Sign and Date Here’s story is ultimately a story about partnership, courage, consistency, and possibility.
Glenita Bjorklund and Shatia R. Moore did not begin with every answer. They began with an idea and a willingness to act on it. Their different professional experiences became complementary strengths, their relationship became a business partnership, and their early work became the foundation for a growing national vision.
The company’s progress—from its April 2025 launch to hundreds of completed signings, a growing multi-state network, its first signing in Puerto Rico, 55 closings in a single month, and a renewed relationship with a major North Carolina client—shows how much can change when an idea is given room to become a business.
Yet they are clear that they are still building.
Their story carries a message for anyone who has been waiting for the perfect circumstances: sometimes the vision is already there. Sometimes what is missing is the right partnership, the courage to begin, and the willingness to learn along the way.
For Bjorklund and Moore, the next chapter is about more than reaching all 50 states. It is about building a company that creates opportunity, earns trust, represents where they come from, supports their families, and encourages the next woman to believe that her idea can become something real.
